A personal introduction to my journey.

Okay, let’s begin – but shall we do a quick wrap-up? Buckle up, because this ride has been anything but ordinary!

This Day Studio was born out of a whirlwind of experiences, risks, and that gut feeling that just wouldn’t quit. My entire career has been steeped in fashion, from my intern days at Paul Smith and Alice Temperley to earning a 1st Class Honours degree in Fashion Design with Manufacture, Marketing, and Promotion at the University of Huddersfield.

I even had an award-winning indie brand, L.2.MAE, that graced the wardrobes of Ashley James and Michelle Keegan (yes, those fabulous women!). Oh, and let’s not forget the time my brand was labeled "one to watch" by a top magazine.

Fast forward to me designing my best friend’s wedding dress—cue the lightbulb moment! The corporate fashion world just wasn’t it for me.

Then came motherhood, a creative void, and a small but mighty brand called LOIAN (because, hello, I can’t not create). But I knew I was meant for more than fun jersey pieces, and so did everyone around me.

The big question was always: WHEN are you going back to womenswear?

And then, 2022 hit. The stars aligned, I had a f** it* moment, and This Day Studio was born.

At first, This Day Studio was all about circular-led bridalwear that went beyond one day. I poured my heart into a gorgeous studio space where I worked one-on-one with bespoke brides, sharing unforgettable moments with them and their bridal gangs. But as much as I loved that chapter, it pulled me further from designing my own collections. I wanted more. Bridal, womenswear, accessories—all things sustainable, circular, and size-inclusive. But the juggle? It was REAL. When my little girl started school (seriously, why does no one tell you that’s another part-time job?), I knew something had to give. So, I handed back the studio keys.

Which brings us to now.

I’m working towards building a dreamy little garden studio at home—a space to create freely, without pressure, and focus on what feels right right now. No chasing a five-year plan, just embracing the moment. I want to create stunning, versatile pieces that fit seamlessly into different moments of life, encouraging you to shop better, buy less, and invest in pieces that actually work for you. I mean, what’s the point of price per wear if you’re buying things with only one occasion in mind? Let’s rethink the way we shop, together.

I also work part-time in sustainability, which I LOVE (but let’s be real, sometimes it feels like a weight). There have been moments when I’ve questioned designing at all because I don’t want to contribute to the problem—but here’s the thing: real change happens when you’re part of it. So here I am, juggling part-time sustainability work, building a dream brand that redefines bridal and womenswear, navigating an endless home renovation, full-time motherhood, and trying to reclaim time for my health and well-being. Casual, right?
